They were shooting "Law and Order: CSI" today outside of my building. Sometimes I really miss acting, but I don't miss this: standing in the cold or the sweltering heat waiting for hours and hours to do your thing for about 2 minutes. Of course I'm talking mostly about extra work, but hey, that's how so many actors make ends meet here. It isn't really acting, not in the true sense of the word, you're just walking, or sitting in a restaurant talking, there's no need to do any "work" to get where you need to be, as you only need to be a body in the background, a piece of human scenery. But it is something that you get money for and you do get to be on a film or TV set so you are at least around people who make their living acting.
Unless of course you are working on "Sex and the City."
