TCM celebrated Dirk Bogarde’s birthday today.


I watched a showing of Libel from 1959.

A pretty unremarkable film with a not-altogether believable plot, but no matter.

dispayed brief glimpses of some delicious James Wong Howe-ness in the handful of street scenes that made it well worth my time on a rainy Easter Monday.

We went out to dinner last night to celebrate Tyler's birthday. Sparks is so good that the waiters don't even come over to ask you how everything was, they know it was great. We ate huge slabs of beef, drank a bottle of very creamy red wine (mostly Tyler, red wine, as most alcohol, gives me a blinding headache) and the waiters sang Happy Birthday to Tyler while serving our Mixed Berry Romanoff for dessert.
Oh, and no one got whacked last night, which is always a good thing.
